DEFEAT Cancer

DEFEAT Cancer is a survivorship empowerment program that focuses on nutrition, physical activity, education and inspiration.

Funded by the Lance Armstrong Foundation and supported by Advanced Specialty Care, DEFEAT Cancer gives cancer survivors and their caregivers an opportunity to focus on living well.  Whether you're being treated for cancer, living with cancer, or a survivor or caregiver, please join us for a delicious healthy meal, inspiring speakers and activities to help you thrive.

DEFEAT Cancer meets the second Tuesday of every month (except August and December) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.  There is also a live video-conference feed to Redmond and Burns.  All programs are available at no cost, but participants are asked to RSVP in advance.

A few times each year, we also host a "Meet the Expert" night, where participants can talk one-on-one with experts in cancer treatment and related fields such as nutrition, stress management, exercise, spiritual care, physical and occupational therapy, and complementary therapies.

Under the direction of Dr. Archie Bleyer, DEFEAT Cancer provides a welcome community of support for all survivors and their caregivers. View upcoming meetings and activities here.  For more information, please contact Marlys Johnson at (541) 706-3754 or Lizzi Katz at (541) 706-2969.
